About this site

This website gives general information about Capital Coin and what we do. Nothing on it is an offer, a contract or a promise that a particular coin is in stock. Inventory changes daily, and gold and silver prices change with the market, so prices and availability are confirmed in the shop.

Values and appraisals

What a coin, note or piece of precious metal is worth depends on the piece, its condition and the market on the day. Information on this site and any value given by phone or from a photo is a general estimate until we see the item in person. Nothing on this site is investment, tax or legal advice.

Selling to us

Offers are based on the item, its condition and the market on the day. Every quote is no obligation, and a sale is final once both of us agree in the shop.

Texas law (Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 1956) requires us, as a buyer of gold, silver and other precious-metal jewelry and scrap, to have you fill out a short form with your name, address and a description of the items, to record your driver's license or Texas ID number, and to send that record to local law enforcement. Items we buy are held for a period set by law before they can be resold or melted. We can't buy them from anyone under 18 without a written statement of approval from a parent or legal guardian. Federal law also requires reports on some large cash transactions and some precious-metal sales.

Grading and brokerage

Grades are assigned by the grading services, not by us, and any estimate of a grade is an opinion. Grading submissions, brokerage and special searches are arranged in the shop, where we'll go over how they work and what they cost before anything starts.

Names and marks

PCGS, NGC, the United States Mint and other names on this site are trademarks of their owners. Naming them tells you what we deal in or belong to and doesn't mean those organizations endorse this website.
